Leveraging its membership in the Arica Port Logistics Community, Corfo presented the Integrated Territorial Program (PTI) "Logistics of Arica and Parinacota," funded by the Regional Productive Development Committee (CDPR), at an expanded session of the organization.
The meeting, held in the Maestranza hall of EFE Arica y Parinacota, was attended by representatives from Empresa Portuaria Arica (EPA), Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA), Inacap, Unap, Sitrans, Maersk, Ultramar, EFE, among others.
"Through this Logistics PTI initiative, we will drive a roadmap aimed at strengthening the logistics value chain, generating new opportunities for SMEs in the sector, and consolidating the region as a key logistics platform for trade with Peru, Bolivia, and international markets," highlighted Corfo regional director, Mirtha Arancibia.
MANAGEMENT MODEL
The Logistics PTI program will implement a 3-year territorial management model for the competitive scaling of the logistics industry's value chain in Arica; supporting the coordination and articulation of public and private actions and projects aimed at strengthening the logistics operation of cargo from southern Peru and Bolivia through the region, particularly from the agri-food, forestry, and mining industries.
EPA General Manager, Jorge Cáceres, explained that the Corfo programs will strengthen logistics SMEs. "It adds efforts to the construction of social capital, mainly in the logistics sector, and a shared vision of the business, the services that can be provided at a regional level, and how we strengthen local companies and entrepreneurs and involve them in this entire plan as a logistics region."
The Corfo initiative has a work plan budgeted for the first year of management, including seminars and dissemination events; specialized consultancies; workshops, and technical roundtables; transversal studies; and participation in missions and networking.
EFE Arica y Parinacota Manager, Yuny Arias, said that the region has a logistics essence. "We have all the logistics actors sitting at a table discussing; and therefore, these instruments enhance the work between public and private sectors so that we advance along the logistics line."
Meanwhile, Inacap Arica Vice-Rector, Marcelo Riquelme, emphasized that opportunities must be seized. "We have Arica on the map in a strategic position. The port logistics community already has governance, and we want to achieve the development of the region. And this PTI comes to provide resources and shape this entire spirit. So, as Inacap, we are available to support this process that will serve us all. Thanks, Corfo."
This Logistics PTI will complement the activities that will be executed in parallel by the "Strengthening of the Arica and Parinacota Cross-Border HUB" program, an initiative funded by the Regional Government of Arica and Parinacota with resources from the Regional Fund for Productivity and Development (FRPD), year 2026.
