Fesco Transportation Group (Fesco) has inaugurated a container terminal in Bataysk, Rostov. The new facilities will be integrated into the Group's terminal infrastructure and will increase the volume of containers in the region's transport hub.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Fesco CEO, Pyotr Ivanov, Governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, and Head of the North Caucasus Railway - part of Russian Railways - Sergei Zadorin.
The terminal is located on a 5-hectare plot of land. Its design capacity is 27,000 TEU and over 310,000 tons annually.
Prior to the terminal's opening, Fesco managed container operations through the Rostov-Zapadny station, located in a densely populated urban area. The new facilities will allow for the diversion of some cargo traffic away from Rostov-on-Don, thereby reducing congestion on the city's road and rail infrastructure.
In the future, the terminal will increase the frequency of container trains between Vladivostok Commercial Port and the Rostov region, in addition to expanding the geography of container shipments from Russia's southern regions.

The project will increase cargo volume, create new jobs, and generate tax revenue for the region, while our partners will gain access to new markets and strengthen their position in the south," stated Governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar.
Fesco has been operating in the Rostov region since 2016. By the end of 2025, the Group's container volume in the region exceeded 14,000 TEU, representing an increase of more than 25% compared to the previous year.
In the first eight months of 2026, Fesco's export and import shipments through the Rostov transport hub reached over 9,000 TEU, almost double the volume recorded in the same period of the previous year.
