Route 5 North: Escorted Convoy Operation for Supply Transport

The CNDC reported the start of a special operation on Route 5 North to unblock cargo flow trapped by adverse weather in Atacama and Coquimbo. Convoys of up to 100 trucks with supplies circulate between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, escorted by Carabineros and military personnel, with dispatches every hour. The operation responds to the Emergency Transit Plan after the storm on July 19.
