Maple Group acquires Fladderak to expand logistics in Rotterdam

Maple Group has acquired Fladderak Industriële Verpakkingen, thereby expanding its capacity to manage industrial and specialized project cargo. Following the acquisition, the holding company now boasts over 40,000 m2 of production, storage, and handling capacity, including 25,000 m2 of covered space, a lifting capacity of up to 80 tons, and a workforce of over 100 employees.

The global export of machinery, production lines, and other industrial goods requires efficient project logistics. Investments in the energy transition are also generating new flows of heavy and oversized cargo. This type of cargo demands specialized export packaging, storage, handling, and lashing services, as well as careful logistical preparation for international transport.

Fladderak has over 75 years of experience in industrial packaging and logistics services for manufacturers in both the Netherlands and abroad. Based in the Eemhaven area (Rotterdam), it operates production and storage facilities with direct access to inland waterway transport by barges. Therefore, the acquisition provides specific capacity for the handling and logistics of export project cargo.

Fladderak's activities complement Maple Group's current operations in packaging, lashing, and logistics. The acquisition allows the holding company to combine larger export projects with additional storage, handling capacity, and quay access in the Port of Rotterdam.

For customers and suppliers, there will be few short-term changes. Fladderak will continue to operate under its current name and from its current facilities.
