Australian cruise sector launches campaign to showcase economic impact
Australian farmers, food suppliers, tourism operators, ports and cruise industry leaders launched the 'Australian Paddock to Port Alliance' to advocate for a competitive cruise sector. According to Australia's Paddock to Port Economic Impact Report, cruise contributes more than A$7.3b in annual economic activity and supports more than 22,000 Australian jobs. Cruise lines spend around A$1.5b annually in Australia, while cruise passengers spend around A$1.8b, including on accommodation, shore excursions, retail, transport and dining.
