Workers at the Port of Santos and truck drivers will have access to a series of free services aimed at promoting health, preventing diseases, and improving quality of life during the "Health in Ports Action," which will be held this Wednesday (23rd) and Thursday (24th), from 10 AM to 4 PM, at Concais – Maritime Passenger Terminal.
During the two days, it will be possible to receive blood pressure and glucose checks, visual acuity assessments, dentistry, psychology, physiotherapy, and nutrition services, as well as social security guidance.
The action, with the participation of the Santos Port Authority (APS), is carried out by Sest/Senat (Social Transport Service and National Transport Learning Service) – these entities organize a week focused on prevention and awareness in different ports across the country.
Other activities
The program also includes prevention-oriented actions. Workers can receive guidance on preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs), dengue, drug, alcohol, and medication intoxication, as well as information related to health in the workplace.
The initiative also includes well-being activities, such as haircuts, barber services, massages, facials, and eyebrow design. Awareness and guidance activities related to traffic and work in the transport sector will also be offered.
Among the environmental and prevention actions is the measurement of black smoke, carried out within the scope of the Despoluir Program, in addition to guidance on atmospheric pollutants.
The Port Guard will also guide truck drivers regarding smoke levels. The approach will take place on the perimeter road, in the vicinity of Concais. Truck drivers who participate in this stage will be invited to participate in the other event activities. The Port Guard's action will be one of the activities promoted throughout the National Traffic Week, which runs until Friday (25th).
