The Port of Seville begins its participation tomorrow in Seatrade Cruise Med 2026, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, backed by favorable cruise traffic data so far this year. Up to August, the Sevillian docks have registered a total of 57 calls, representing an 11.7% growth compared to the same period last year. This increase has been accompanied by a rise in the number of cruise passengers (almost 17,000 passengers) who have visited the Andalusian capital, an 18.3% more than in 2025.
During these days in Las Palmas, the delegation of the Port Authority of Seville, headed by its president, Rafael Carmona, will focus its attraction strategy on high-end companies with boutique and expedition ships. These cruises offer a catalog of quality services aimed at comfort and luxury in attractive destinations due to their navigation, such as Seville (through the Guadalquivir, touring Doñana and the riverside towns); as well as for its cultural and monumental assets (the Delicias cruise terminal is located a short distance from the city's historic center).
The last quarter of 2026 concentrates a large number of arrivals in the Andalusian capital. Thus, during these days, the cruise ship Scenic Eclipse II is docked at the Las Delicias pier with almost 200 passengers and 220 crew members on board. It is scheduled to depart tomorrow, Wednesday, for Tangier. Other cruise ships will also dock at the Port of Seville in the coming months, highlighting the first calls of the Emerald (Sakara and Azzurra) company's cruise ships during October and November. The Azamara Onward and Vidanta World's Elegant will also return, with the latter closing the year with a visit near New Year's Eve (December 30).
Among the 57 cruises that have already called up to this August, notable luxury boutique vessels include the Azamara Quest, the Star Legend, the Silver Shadow —which returned to Seville this year— or the high-end twins Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II, which coincided for the first time in May in the port, transporting more than 350 passengers, along with 360 crew members. Likewise, the spring season concentrated berths during the Feria season, such as the Hanseatic Nature, Clio, and Evrima, from Ritz-Carlton.
This boost to cruise activity coincides with the start of the concession to Global Ports Holding, in collaboration with Ocean Platform Marina (OPM), for the management of the Delicias cruise terminal. These facilities cover more than 7,000 square meters and offer a specific hosting service for shipping companies and their clients. This concession, which will last for the next 25 years, aims to build and manage the new cruise terminal, which will be located at the Tablada pier, within the future Urban Port District. The objective of the Port of Seville is to attract higher value-added calls and position the Andalusian capital as a leading destination for luxury and premium cruises.
