A tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz was hit by an unknown projectile, leaving two crew members with minor injuries, according to UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
In a security alert, UKMTO stated that it received a report regarding a vessel making an inbound transit through this strategic waterway.
"Military authorities have informed UKMTO that a tanker on an inbound transit was hit by an unknown projectile," the agency said.
According to the advisory, two crew members sustained minor injuries, while the vessel continued to its next port of call under its own power.
"Authorities are investigating the incident," UKMTO added.
No further details were immediately available, including the identity of the tanker or the origin of the projectile.
