Long Beach approves USD 58.2 million for zero-emission technology
The Port of Long Beach authorized USD 58.2 million to acquire green cargo handling equipment, zero-emission port vessels, and an emission-free locomotive. The Board of Harbor Commissioners approved the expenditure as part of a grant from the California State Transportation Agency for the Comprehensive Freight Investment (SWIFT). The project includes 61 units of handling equipment, 21 chargers, six zero-emission vessels, and five cleaner ones.
