Maritime Technology Supplier Sees Data Center Opportunities
Ålesund-based Hydroniq Coolers, known for marine cooling systems for ships, sees significant opportunities applying its seawater cooler technology to cool data centers on land. CEO Inge Bøen highlights that water-based cooling is more energy-efficient than industrial cooling fans. The company has previously delivered coolers to Hydro Sunndal aluminum plant, Tonstad hydropower plant in Agder, and Wärtsilä's center in Vaasa, Finland. Hydroniq manufactures its coolers at headquarters on Ellingsøy, near Ålesund, Norway.
