Atlantic Hurricane Season Passes Peak Without Forming Single Hurricane
The Atlantic hurricane season has passed its traditional September 10 peak without a single hurricane forming, marking an unusually quiet period by historical standards. According to NOAA, there are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic, Eastern Pacific or Central Pacific, with only one disturbance monitored showing a 40% chance of cyclone formation in the next seven days. NOAA predicted a below-average season with eight to 14 named storms and three to six potential hurricanes. For the cruise industry, the quiet conditions have meant fewer weather-related disruptions during a normally high-risk period.
