Dali Civil Trial Delayed to Consider Legal Issue After Most Claims Settle
The U.S. federal district court judge postponed indefinitely the civil trial related to the containership Dali after most claims were settled. Judge James Bredar ruled on June 1 to delay proceedings, with all remaining parties agreeing to the postponement to consider a legal issue. The largest settlement was a record $2.25 billion with the State of Maryland, plus $100 million with the federal government.
