HMM Launches GIA Route in East Africa with Five 2,800 TEU Vessels
HMM announced the launch of the Gulf-India-East Africa (GIA) service, a new container route set to begin in September. The route connects East Africa with Nhava Sheva and Mundra, operating under a Hub & Spoke strategy. It will utilize five 2,800 TEU container vessels and will be jointly operated by HMM, Cosco Shipping, PIL, and Interasia Lines. The inaugural voyage will depart from Nhava Sheva Port in the fourth week of September.
