Fire at Alaska cruise terminal damages Klondike Express vessel

A fire broke out on 14 September at around 11:00 a.m. local time at Whittier's commercial cruise terminal in Alaska, damaging the US-flagged high-speed tour boat Klondike Express. The vessel was moored alongside the burning dock and sustained damage from flames and heat, though no passengers or crew were aboard and no injuries were reported. The Bahamas-flagged cruise ship Norwegian Jade safely departed the area. Phillips Cruises & Tours stated operations will continue using other vessels.
