9.8% Drop in Bio Bio's Forestry Exports in May 2026

Forestry exports from the Bio Bio Region totaled 204 million dollars in May 2026, registering a 9.8% drop compared to May 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Despite the setback, equivalent to 22.2 million dollars, the sector maintained its position as the main driver of regional foreign trade, accounting for 63.7% of the total value. Cellulose led shipments with 130.1 million dollars, although it also experienced a 5% reduction.
