Ships Divert Route in Red Sea Due to Houthi Threats to Saudi Ports

Four ships changed course in the Red Sea on July 22 following warnings from Yemen's Houthi militia against vessels bound for Saudi ports. The Houthis declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia on Monday the 20th, escalating the threat to global maritime trade. Several oil tankers loaded with Saudi crude destined for China and India headed towards the Suez Canal instead of navigating through the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
