Haropa Port Creates 10.8-Hectare Wetland for Biodiversity
Haropa Port transformed a sediment deposit area into a 10.8-hectare wetland with a two-hectare pond as part of environmental measures to improve river access to Port 2000. The site already hosts several bird species, avocets, and common gulls. The initiative is part of the ERC (Avoid, Reduce, Compensate) approach and includes underwater noise monitoring, preservation of sea kale, and studies on common seals.
