China Mobilizes 2.35 Billion Tons on Railways from January to July

China's state railways transported 2.35 billion tons of cargo between January and July 2026, a 0.7% increase compared to the previous year. According to China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the average daily cargo reached 187,000 wagons, with a 2.1% increase. 1.22 billion tons of coal were transported, while grains, chemicals, and textiles grew by 7.4%, 5.4%, and 21.4% respectively. Rail-road intermodal transport increased by 80.9% to 294 million tons.
